ABOUT THE PROJECT
Solid Slab started as an exploration of weight and warmth. The brief was simple: design a display typeface that feels bold without being aggressive, something with presence but with softness built into its structure. The rounded interior terminals give each letterform a slightly inflated, tactile quality, making it feel physical rather than feeling flat.
THE APPROACH
The design process focused on consistency of weight across every character — letters, numerals, punctuation, and symbols all carry the same visual mass. Inner corners were rounded to soften the geometry without losing the slab's inherent authority. The goal was a face that works hard at large sizes but never shouts.
